October 24, 2017 Raymond Soucy talks with Rob Dutton from the Grand 101.1FM about Randon Act of Kindness day on November 3nd, 2017. The Centre Wellington Community Foundation has “Kindness Kits” that individuals and groups can request. The Kindness Kits include school activities, idea sheets, handouts, posters and links to additional resources. It’s free to participate and a chance to shine a spotlight on Kindness on November 3nd.
April 18, 2017 Raymond Soucy, CWCF Executive Director talks about the upcoming FUNdraiser event. Rob Dutton mentions how CWCF donated $5,000 to The Grand 101.1 FM Emergency broadcasting system to allow our local Community Radio station to improve community safety. To help tell the CWCF story and raise some funds, the FUNdraiser event will include the Potion Kids, grantees and the Centre Wellington Food School. The event will be on May 6th, 2018.
May 31, 2016 The audio from Swap Talk on The Grand 101.1 FM with citizen volunteer and councillor Kirk McElwain, Elora BIA administrator Fred Gordon and CWCF board member Jason Thompson, discuss the wonderful Elora Green Space. Starting with a mothballed gas station from the 1930’s and a gravel lot contaminated by hydrocarbons, the community uniquely came together and made what may well be the central place for Elora, for tourists and locals alike. CWCF helped with the funding of this with our Elora Green Space Fund and through citizen generosity, the 5 year project is now paid off. Definitely a local success story worth celebrating!
